It has never been about creating a WM, Summerslam, etc moment for the challenger - people should get that by now that Romans heel status is entirely build upon crushing audience favorites preferably in their hometown/state/country/continent- each and everyone of them and as long as marks show up in the same number to the events, why would they care?
They buy his shirts, they bought the tickets before the cards.. obviously they don't care if Roman wrestles on 5 times a year when for the average mark it is't like seeing the same mediocre Michael Bay or Fast and Furious movie 5 times in a year. When he can't walk down the ramp anymore, then, then maybe it's worth investing in one the guys who couldn't beat him.
This is not all out defense for the company, I'm tired of Romans coconut matches and how even with bringing in an authority figure in nobody ever gets in trouble for interfering I really hate that WWE writers miss those simple cause and effect exclamations, because it makes it feel like they don't care, even something as simple as getting fined for it being mentioned would be enough but instead Roman just rolls on and the stakes for each match is the same.
