>>13372038Keep up the vids as long as you have fun with it, and try to stay consistent! YT was hard to get views even back then when I used to upload stuff (2007-2011) and was lucky to get over a couple of hundred views with any video. I'll say the algorithm was a bit more accommodating back then & I'd imagine it's even more difficult now to build an audience. I'd suggest try different styles of videos as well instead of strictly game footage or 'let's play' type. Maybe commentary or reactions to different things (although you gotta be careful of copyright stuff in case your vids get a strike or copyright notice). Sometimes you gotta ride the wave of current trends, so whatever other youtubers are doing which gets them views might work for you as well. We used to do "rant" videos about random nerdy topics like comic books, video games, wrestling, etc back in those days. Guys like Hellsing920, Silent Rob, and BigAl2k6 built an audience that way. The current versions of 'rant' videos have turned into more organized "essay" type channels, but you can do whatever you want. I also remember getting tons of views for talking about these Moshi Monster trading cards that were popular at the time, around early 2011. That was like catching lightning in a bottle, I got like 20-40 thousand views from that & got a monetized channel because of it. When I stopped uploading around 6 years ago and my viewership dwindled down, Youtube removed my partnership & couldn't get money anymore. It was a fun ride while it lasted. Game videos, rants, essays, commentaries, reactions, random cool shit like "how to build a sand castle" or something like that. Anyway good luck with your channel!
