Okada doesn't strike me like someone who is chasing after the money, I think he is more than set for life from being THE guy in Japan for the last 12 years, so it doesn't make much sense for him to join AEW. I highly doubt he would have new opportunities for good rivalries/matches in AEW, and not because he isn't trying, he has already faced basically all the wrestlers employed by AEW who are worth a shit, and I don't think the way Tony cowardly books his talent would make Okada feel any more important. On the other hand, there is WWE, a company where promo work is heavily emphasized and Okada can't really speak English that well, but he would have the opportunities to face a lot of good wrestlers working for WWE, and will most likely have a good run at the top if he decides to go there, probably a wrestlemania main event too.
Obviously, at the end of the day, I'm sure he has his reasons for signing for a company and not the other, but objectively speaking, I don't think AEW is the best destination for him.
