There is a thing called "conversational English" which is perfectly acceptable in dialogue and actual conversing.

Grammar is a bit of a meme, anyway -- most great writers ignore its rule entirely. I'm reading Blood Meridian now and it's great but McCarthy writers gigantic run-on sentences without giving two shits about what's correct.
