I watched a lot of his old matches recently and yeah he is. Could work LONG matches with shitters like Luger and Sting and make them compelling. GOAT talent.

You can make a strong case for Flair as the GOAT pro wrestler, because he excelled at all four aspects of wrestling: promos, workrate, psychology, and "it" factor. I don't think Flair is at the very top in any one category, but he's top 10 all time, arguably top 5, in every category.

Hogan is the undisputed biggest wrestling star, and the biggest draw, at least of the "modern" era (yes moreso than Austin since he did it for much longer). It's more than fair to crown Hogan as the best ever. But it depends how you judge it. I won't tell you how since it's subjective.

While I agree with you, OP, I disagree with your dismissal of Lex Luger. Luger was a good worker (not Flair level of course) in the late 80s and early 90s, before the motorcycle injury that nearly killed him. His style changed when he went to WWF due to that injury, and he was never the same since. Luger around 1989 or 1990 is one of my favorites to watch and one of wrestling's great "what ifs?" What if Luger hadn't gotten in that motorcycle accident? Or what if he had never left WCW? Luger could have been one of the all time greats.

Sting was absolutely the shits back then, though. Flair carried him to classic matches.

Yeah I was trolling a bit. I grew up with Flair being past his prime in late WCW and his second WWE run and always wondered what the big deal about him was.
Then a few years back I forced myself to sit down and watch some matches from his prime (a cage match he had with Luger and the famous Sting CotC match) and I had the Frank Reynold "oh I get it now" moment.

You should watch the Flair/Funk feud from 1989. Great matches and moments from that one. I assume you've already seen the Flair/Steamboat trilogy from the same year, but if not of course it's worth a watch. I adore 1989 WCW even though it didn't draw a dime.

Jericho is a good pick for well rounded wrestler, as you say. He's not as good of a worker as Flair (Jericho botches a lot of you really study his work), and he's not undisputed GOAT promo. Flair at his peak is hard to surpass in that category. Maybe Piper when he's not forced to be cartoony.

Yeah I've watched a big chunk of 80s WCW at this point and the big shows are great and the weekly studio shows are probably the best wrestling TV ever (great promos, HOT crowds, fun squashes).

Jericho, despite being a pretty big star in the wrestling world and having a lot of longevity has never felt anything beyond a lower uppercard guy. He's never been THE MAN. To his credit, I think he's aware of this and works his ass off to compensate and isn't afraid to reinvent himself.
