When they replaced all the custom-written instrumental character pieces with buttrock songs in 2002 it was one of the many reasons I stopped watching. Kane's and Benoit's were among the worst. I always get told my taste is shit and those themes are kino, so maybe that's true or maybe I'm getting gaslit by zoomers who grew up in that era.

I've warmed to them a little over the years but I really think they should stick to licensed songs from reputable bands like Austin's Disturbed theme, HHH's Motorhead theme, CM Punk's, etc. I also really liked when Undertaker entered to Johnny Cash that one time.

I like jim johnston but he made some really generic shit in the 2000s. The new Christian and Test themes in 2002/2003 were terrible. He became obsessed with this shitty guitar sound and everything sounded the same

I mostly agree, though I actually prefer Disturbed' Glass Shatters to the original.
It's weird to me how oddly fitting Slow Chemical was for Kane. It's stupid bit also the song that comes to mind whenever I see him.
