There are many theories but not much evidence to support them. The idea of "genetic memory" seems obvious but the function of how it works still isn't clear.
Some believe it's neurological. That the "blueprints" to your brain cause specific thoughts to be built into you at the base level, what we refer to as instinct. Some believe the gut biome has something to do with this and there's evidence that changing the biome does have psychological effects.
This genetic memory or instinct gives you an advantage in "evolutionary terms" (that's a bad phrasing but it will do). You recognise individuals who are a threat to the tribe, who can disturb the order or pose a danger. It's the same reason why many people are genuinely repulsed by gay sex, it's not taught, it's innate to them. Similarly, in controlled studies, women have been shown to be able to identify psychopaths at a much larger rate than random chance simply by looking at them which men cannot do. Though there's weak evidence that men can do the same with sexual deviants such as pedophiles.
It's an interesting field of study but the basic answer here is that you feel that way because you have two billion years of evolutionary pressure on your psychology to recognise threats to your tribe and behaviors that are outside of the normal.
