I think I figured out why Triple Paul pushes so many dimesless indy guys and smark darlings. His rise to the top was achieved by burying countless other guys both in the ring and backstage to the front office. We probably wont ever really know how many careers he helped kill or cut short by his political maneuvering and the ones we do know about tell the story of a man who didn't care who he had to step over to gain power. Now in his older years, having done everything he ever wanted and having kids now, he reflects back on the man he was and possibly regrets what he did to those people, or at the very least he's aware that what he did would be seen as evil in the eyes of many. What better way to atone for those sins than by listening to the same smarks you once laughed at behind closed doors with your buddies. Give all their favorites a run with the gold to show, hey Im not such a bad guy anymore. Half of me wants to believe that he genuinely wants to give back to the business but the other half thinks its a cold, calculated move to remain in his position and keep the favor of the smarks he now panders to.

Tl;dr Paul is a cunt, he knows he's a cunt and his indy wankery is nothing but a way to work the smarks.
