It did though and people were saying it back when AEW first launched. It was more likely AEW being around would fuck the indies and NJPW than it ever being legit competition to WWE. I mean I don't care because WWE did the same thing to the UK scene and those guys were truly signing mark contracts of between 25-40K a year.

AEW's purpose was to knock a scale off of a dragon. An arrow was sent into the spot and the riches were conquered. Now we have WWE Dynamite on Mondays, NXT Of Honor on Tuesdays, and WWE Collision on Fridays.

He didn't do it with Sting and Lex Luger. He did it with Hulk Hogan, Razor Ramon and Diesel. Bischoff temporarily beat WWF by booking WCW vs WWF where WWF constantly won. And even though they tried to obfuscate it with guys like Bagwell and Norton, make no mistakes about it. the New World Order of Wrestling was and was always supposed to represent the WWF.

I miss WWE being WWE. The fun was picking out the good parts on a bad show. But HHH's booking feels like deep fried AEW which itself borrows from ROH which borrowed from ECW which owed everything to Memphis. So the only real difference in shows is one is the one with more women-centric segments and the other is the one with announcers that I like.

As a TV producer I think Eric is pretty valuable. He has good ideas on TV show formatting and presentation.

As a booker/creative head he’s a complete disaster and has no idea how to direct a promotion.
