Id love a wrestling game where it’s presented as a work. Career mode would be trying to get yourself over, draw money for the business etc and not upset the boys above you on the card or the promoter. Should probably be set in the territory days

I don’t mind the new arcadey gameplay style post 2K20. The only gripe I have with it is that wrestlers no sell literally everything and don’t stay down anywhere near long enough. It makes all your attacks feel very weak and unsatisfying.

theres sliders to adjust kick outs but you have to do it wrestler by wrestler, i spent like 2 hours doing it and it made the game way better but its annoying

This works very well for kickouts (and submissions) but the overall recovery/down time stuff is very janky. They get up way too fast from most stuff, then they stay down at the most random times. You notice it the most when you have someone with a top rope finisher. But maybe setting everyone's recovery attribute really low can help

2k23 is fine in the ring for normal matches, some stuff like the dives feel really good even if the button inputs are weird but the moment you use a weapon it becomes miserable imo

I miss the career modes from the PS1 and 2
I basically skipped from SVR 07 to 2k22 so I missed all the in between, it the career modes in 22 and 23 are this weird mix of shoot and work and they weren’t interesting at all
I miss going through storylines and challenging for titles as actual performers

I really miss the THQ UFC games. Strikes in those games actually had impact behind them and the ground game actually felt intuitive. Pushing the right analog stick in the direction you wanted your fighter to move while grappling on the mat felt really natural.

I miss when weapon shots kept people down. It was satisfying in DoR and the SDvR games to use a chair. The referees need to stay down longer too. Hitting one used to open up the match for weapon use, now they bounce right back up.
