I knew George Steele for a very brief period of time. He was in HCTP but he told me the reason why he didn't want to be in any more video games back when he was alive. And it's because of the Acclaim Legends of Wrestling games. They didn't pay him for the last one because they went bankrupt, and that turned him away from wanting to lend his likeness.

Dude had a regular old school gameboy and played it, btw.

Do the video games negotiate stuff with former wrestlers independent from WWE? Apparently, according to Meltzer, 2k is the reason The Warrior and Sting went to WWE in the 2010s, but I find it very hard to believe anyone can show up in these games without WWE's sign off first.

I remember playing HCTP as a kid. Seeing "Hawk" and "The Animal" being unlockable wrestlers in the single player mode, and my retarded kid brain genuinely thought I would be able to play as a Hawk or an "animal" if I unlocked them. Was extremely disappointed when they were hairy fat men.
