>>13518616It's for sure more than just the CAW system imo. There's a serious lack of match types (how is there no cage match? Create a PPV?) and the game as a whole feels kinda barren.
They did a great job of recreating No Mercy's gameplay for the most part (I do feel like somehow the damage seems higher and it just feels like you can beat opponents way quicker/matches feel too fast?) but somehow No Mercy N64 as a game released in the late 90's feels deeper and like the improved version of Fight Forever.
Also the roster is so ridiculously outdated and they were already behind on that. Which I guess isn't the biggest deal but like when will we get Switchblade? Is Ospreay even gonna find his way in there?
I think the game is beyond saving but they would do it a ton of good if they cut the bullshit Mario Party wannabe mini games and gave us
A massive CAW DLC/expansion with as man new parts and additions/moves as possible
New match types DLC/update
Start expediting releasing current notable AEW names (Swerve and Timeless Toni Storm are a good start)
Additionally some sort of showcase mode or mode that let's you play through or recreate some of AEW's most significant matches complete with real footage spliced in during the match. I always loved how in No Mercy you could loosely play through The Rock's real life road to Wrestlemania 2000. Road to Elite was a good idea modelled after No Mercy's career/story mode with the branching paths but the stories were all just so goofy and comedic like it didn't even take itself seriously. Doesn't need to be stonefaced serious but like would've been nice the storylines didn't feel like a joke and were actually cool or interesting.
