In ring? You mention guys like Bret and HBK in the modern era guys like Omega, Okada, Danielson, etc.
It's really hard to pick a single GOAT but if I had to and I'm going with one wrestler for ALL time I would personally pick The Rock. We'll never see another guy like him like when he was at the peak of his powers in the 90's and 2000's. Also he's the only pro wrestler that transcended and got bigger than the business itself. Guys like Cena and Batista have found success in Hollywood but Rock did that and far more. He's a pop culture icon and global brand. Gen Z likes to think that Rock only got big once Hollywood came ringing but Rock was a pro wrestling megastar as early as 2000. So much so that Hollywood took an interest and the rest is history.
