I think they predecided that they were going to have a match at mania that was two people built up to fight with some underdog thrown in at the last minute, and Phil's injury made them shift that story from the WHC to the WWE championship.

Just have him fail a cash in to put over Drew. It works because after Drew's whole character being getting screwed, he finally reaches the mountaintop AND is good enough to save himself from more fuckery. Priest can settle into his midcarder for life position after that.

McIntyre was by far the least interesting challenger out of everyone in that match, but it was also a foregone conclusion like the women's match. Not sure why Paul did that with both. Could have been a half decent show if there was any mystery about who was winning the Chamber matches.

They were building a heel turn, and I'm pretty sure Seff was always gonna lose at Mania, but between Punk and Seff's injuries, I think the pivoted to Drew filling that role. Had they not, he was gonna go against Sami or Punk or something.
