AEW is shit, but since his fans want him to cover it and it's considered "The 2nd biggest wrestling promotion" he talks about it. Luckily he only covers Dynamite, or else he would be dead having to cover the Friday and Saturday shows.

He's said in the past he thinks NXT is painfully boring. I agree, with the exception of Oba Femi. He also thinks the main roster is boring, but it has a lot more stars that can have a logical match, so he tolerates it.

Because contrary to popular belief, Jim Cornette wants AEW to succeed.
Even the E-Drones on this board will admit to you that competition is a good thing.

The problem is that AEW sucks. It only caters to the hardcore fan, doesn’t care about attracting more casual viewers and is gatekept like it’s more valuable than the Pearly Gates themselves.

That is not conducive to building a successful wrestling show. It sucks to watch and only makes WWE stronger by serving as secondary developmental brand for the Fed.

But of course, Tony Khan doesn’t care. AEW is his booking fantasy come to life and as long as he gets to play with his sandbox, what does it matter to him if AEW doesn’t last until the end of the decade? Like all billionaire children, they got bored of their new toy eventually.

it's business, he has a bigger audience than AEW does and they want to hear his opinions on the business today and AEW is consistently accidently funny and amateurish with frequent hideous botches. Thanks to this post, I have realized most people who don't like AEW don't get it. It's like they want their fans to feel smart but you can't feel smart if you're not smart so they stick with WWE Monday Night Recap and WWE Friday Night Video Packages. Because they're not ready for solids yet.

This is AEW's problem though, their product appeals to an extremely niche audience, this is why they constantly struggle for big crowds at TV tapings but those who do turn up are REALLY into it. This is also why the ratings have shown no growth in a long time and never will unless they proactively change the product to broaden it's appeal but this will upset their core fanbase.

The truth is to get more eyes, you have to play dirty. Imagine if every week Excalibur read off how much more income and education AEW fans have over WWE fans. Or if they point out all of the terrible news to come out of WWE. Tell no lies, just outline that AEW fans are more likely to be eccentric geniuses and the WWE Universe is Planet Retard. Maybe even publicly give money to anti-trafficking organizations with a note "At least ONE wrestling company is against sexual exploitation of the vulnerable." And then if they go to give money to abused children vs WWE's history? It's all over.

Basically, air every bit of dirty laundry WWE fans do not know. Scorched earth, the only people left watching WWE would be unsalvageable bad people.
