Smarks hated TNA because it was viewed as stealing ROH's spot. If you wanted an actual alternative to WWE, ROH was infinitely better than TNA who for some reason hired all of the clowns that run WCW into the ground. Early Russo run TNA really just felt like an extension of WCW 2000.
Looking back TNA was very directionless. They always tried to market themselves as a WWE alternative while barely being any different than them.
