presumably for unlockables. it's obviously not because of the quality writing. you'll also never come back to play them once the new game is released, unlock here comes the pain, shut your mouth, and the early SvRs, which have unlimited replay value.

They changed it. There's now classes and drawing power with the latter prioritized. Meaning even if you book a "bad" match but the wrestlers are draws, it's ok.

That's a thing in 2K24. You determine the draft pool from the full game roster and can also toggle which wrestlers are "active" and which are "legends". Legends are part-timers that you can use to boost ratings like IRL. You can customize every wrestler's rating before beginning the GM mode and you can also save the roster lists you create for use in other GM mode playthroughs.

No, I do it for the story. Last year's male path was shit but I enjoyed the female one.

Not really. There's no voice acting and after a couple of playthroughs you start running into the same shit. Those old Season modes are like the Superstar mode of Universe.

1. This mainly applies to the pre-SvR games, but even still, there are numerous different branching paths, so even if you get repeating storylines, you can end up with dozens of different season outcomes.
2. From SvR until SvR 2007, the wrestlers voice act their career modes, and many have character unique stories.

What about MyRise or whatever the fuck they call MyCareer now, is it still garbage like it was in 2K22? Didn't play 2K23.
I loved 2K16's MyCareer the most, it obviously wasn't as "fleshed out" as the later MyCareer's which were entirely scripted but the freedom you had was almost on par with the Mat Dickie rasslin games which I fucking adored and ended up playing through the MyCareer mode several times some 8 years ago.
I saw a lot of people shilling 2K22's MyRise and I gave it a shot but then I realized it's just a scripted Career mode with the only difference being you can start gay little meme rivalries with people and have ONE match via fucking phone texts which immediately made me quit the mode for good among other gay shit featured there.
Was 2K23 any better in regards to that? Are there any news on the 2K24 MyCareer?

It's not like 2K22 which was disjointed, almost felt like a bunch of side missions with no main storyline. But the MyRise mode is still very scripted. You have very limited choice in the story.

2K23/2K24 have a similar mode to 2K16's Career. You go to Universe mode, but instead of controlling the whole Universe, you can play as one wrestler. You can request title matches or trades, you get put into matches and rivalries, there's statistics menus and all that shit.

Nah, 2K14 was great, 2K15 had at least a good 6-7 hours worth of the kino ass showcases, 2K16 had good replayability with the MyCareer and a fun showcase mode, skipped out on 17 and 18 cus they seemed gay but 2K19 had GOAT gameplay + on PC it has amazing mod support so you can turn your game into just about anything, 2K20 was admittedly terrible but 2K22 had great gameplay and I assume that the same goes for 2K23.
SvR was insanely hit or miss, the only 2 I went back and played were 2007 and 2011.
