I don't think the difference in pay is really that great. you get WAY more clout as a WWE guy which translates into more money, fame etc. WWE jobbers are more known than top AEW guys. WWE IS wrestling. AEW is small time.

wwe offers a slim chance at actual fame, a level of fame no one in aew has ever reached so far. posting here and constantly browsing wrestling forums gives the impression that a lot more people know/care about any of these shitters. in reality about 5% of wwe wrestlers are actually "famous" outside of wrestling. whilst aew it's roughly 0% excluding people who got famous in wwe 2 decades ago and are now irrelevant. wrestling as a whole is going through a boom period but it doesn't actually translate to pop culture. triple h, roman, the rock and even mysterio are all actually famous; but they are exceptions overall. for every mysterio that the majority of people alive in the 2000/10's could recognise based on the mask alone, theres the other 99 shitters no one outside of wrestling actually knows exist. wwe just sells the idea that could be you and you might even be in movies one day despite it being extremely unlikely. whilst tony pays oil billionaire wages but you're absolutely destined to only be talked about by meltzer and smarks who want high rated wrestling matches. for some people like danielson, that's a dream scenario so aew is obviously better for him. for some people that won't be enough and the dreams of grandeur will just lead them to wwe where there's better opportunities outside of just wrestling.
that's the least bad faith way I could explain it but OP is probably dilating and won't care regardless
