He peaked in popularity at WCW during that '97 era. He rocked those WCW game covers too, and was poster boy for the hottest company in the world. Sold the most merch alongside Stone Cold in that year. Had legendary matches in the late 80s to early 90s against Flair & Vader. Had mainstream appeal as the Crow Sting and even got his black & red Wolfpac character over. Even though he failed in WWE, Sting had a longer run than Taker, better matches than HBK, more insane moments than Shane McMahon, and cooler gimmick than Great Muta. Overall, he gets an 8.8 out of 10.

Best matches was anything he did with Flair.
Best gimmick was unironically Joker Sting in TNA, it was shitty creatively but he was having so much fun doing it that it legitimately made it great.
I really hate saying it, even knowing how it turned out, but his best storyline still was the 96-97 one.
He gave a lot back after WCW and didn’t even quit the industry after the wet fart of his WWE run, so he’s probably the best vet that has stuck around and actually helped the younger talent after his prime.

ol stinger had the highest rate of enjoyable matches of anyone in aew. only one i hated was the jericho match at forbidden door

Everything leading up to the night before starcade. Wolfpac sting was fine but it would have been better for him to keep his long hair but dye it beach blonde like he once had it and combine crow sting and surfer sting

Should shown up in shape and tanned and maybe we're talking about one of the GOATs, probably one of the most unlucky wrestlers ever, to be around so many bad matches and angles really speaks to his longevity. He should have put Allen over.
