Ospreay is a total and complete moron for not at least attempting to make Fed money. Literally, who gives a fuck about whether or not you're doing insane dangerous shit or whether or not you're wrestling only your best friends. Nobody that buys tickets actually cares. All anyone cares about is your stories and how you make the people feel. Ospreay has basically zero character work so far and any that he did in Japan is basically nullified. He needs to establish who he is as a character and then run with it. If it's really Aerial Assassin, that's what he should use and he needs to define what that means every week with promo vignettes and squash matches. Otherwise, AEW will do nothing with him but flounder his career putting him in yummy wummy bouts with zero build. And then he will still have to take his gimmick to WWE. Otherwise, I don't see Ospreay getting his foothold in the industry properly. Tony Khan simply CANNOT do what is necessary to get someone over. He had that flippy match with Ricochet years ago and he allowed the little shitter Rico to parlay that into WWE money and he didn't even try himself. I mean what an absolute moron bruv.
