AEW would be so much better if they only did PPVs and didn't have a weekly show. Just copy the New Japan style.

I don’t get how Tony can book decent ppvs but does dogshit weekly tv. Is it just because the ppvs tend to be match heavy? Dynamite is done in that format too but the wrestling on any PPV is far better than your run of the mill dynamite episode

Yes. Tony can make matches. He can't do stories. If AEW had no stories at all it would be a massive improvement.

You aren't wrong. AEW PPVs aren't great but they're better than Slopamite, Sloplision, and Slopage. It's also pretty obvious that the live crowds are losing interest in weekly TV but they still show up in good numbers for the PPVs. AEW could ditch its weekly shows completely and nothing of value would be lost.

People think AEW is a workrate promotion but it's extremely top heavy. Once you get past the top 8 or so guys it becomes total amateur hour. So you can book good PPVs because you only have the absolute top guys wrestling on there, but then when you get beyond those guys you get shit like Guevara kicking concussed Jeff or that womeme wrestler who literally knocked herself out with a botch on Dynamite 2 weeks ago.

AEW has the rut of filling out week to week television but trying not to blow its load with giving ppv quality matches at a time. So you’ll get Takeshita vs Lee Moriarity on Wednesdays & if you stick with it you’ll get Ospreay vs Hangman at the ppv. It’s a terrible format. If they actually just gave the tiniest bit of effort for tv like they do on PPV’s they’d easily sustain crowds. People showed up for revolution but they know dynamite is a waste of time

It doesn't matter. Our weekly shows are still the best pro wresting weekly shows of all time. We won the awards in WON to prove it. We are just better. Better than WCW, NJPW and certainly better than the sloppy shit of WWE. Yeah...we fucking won. AEW is the best professional wrestling show of ALL time. Simple as. Don't even pretend to disagree, you know it's a fucking fact. Just look at our match ratings. Best rated matches are all AEW matches.
