>>13676238>Shitting on the dude for turning purple when he's literally getting choked out is pretty disingenuous. Especially considering both of them started much later in life. Imo if you put a good faith effort into doing something and lose, you should not get ridiculed for it. People aren't shitting on him for giving BJJ a try and losing a fight, theyre shitting on him for being a wrestler (fake tough guy profession) whose specific gimmick is "I'm a badass DEATH JITSU hardcore legit fighter legit fake tough guy", getting schooled by a nobody half his size.
It's the exact same as Punk KWABing himself in BJJ tournaments and UFC, except Punk had quit WWE for years, he wasn't concurrently wrestling in WWE insisting he's an MMA shooter badass, while simultaneously getting beat by amateurs.
Absolutely no shame in studying a martial art, entering competitions, and losing. There is shame in entering amateur martial arts contests and losing to a guy half your size while simultaneously going around acting like you're some ultra tough badass guy, and LARPing on TV that you're a legit fighting badass. One of the first things that martial arts clubs teach is some fucking respect and attitude and humility, Dean has zero humility despite being visibly humbled here, that's why he's shat on. He's as much of a fucking poser as Punk (as is Hangman, but politically, not in faketough stakes)
