That type of pandering to specific demographics instead of building up talent and getting them over organically, is antidimes and is why AEW is still sub-milly and why the WWE fell off a cliff in the 2000s.
It's what exhausted the New York territory before Vince took over from his dad. Every ethnic group had a wrestler to represent him, and the overwhelming majority of the audience didn't care for it and didn't buy tickets to see those other groups.
At the same time, the ethnic groups didn't go to the wrestling shows because they either couldn't afford to or didn't like the guy.
Just because Moné is black and from Boston doesn't mean that everyone who's black and from Boston will want to see AEW.
