>>13689609The way I look at it, Rock/Austin was the finale of WWF's Attitude Era, but what followed was the Invasion that did eventually include the nWo. X-8, with the end/unification of the WCW world heavyweight title, intercompany matches, and the finale of the Attitude in general (WWF/WCW/WCW).
Remember that right after WrestleMania X-8, the WCW, ECW, and even WWF ceased to exist. A new entity, WWE, was a consolidation of these three promotions into one entity and finally erasing the distinctions between them. In kayfabe, of course. Technically WCW and ECW didn't exist a year prior, but in kayfabe that wasn't true until the following year.
