>>13706145I enjoy AEW more than I enjoy WWE. I watch AEW much more than I watch WWE
But I am not a solipsistic, tunnel-visioned individual like you are
The average AEW fan wouldn't accept AEW being 20% more like WWE if it meant 50% more fans.
That's a trade-off I would take and I think is worth making
80% more like WWE for 85% more fans, no. 50% more for 65% more fans, still no. There's a balance to be had there
The issue is that for whatever reason, Tony Khan sees his battle as "Everyone (including AEW) vs. WWE" when it's more like AEW/NJPW/GCW+super indies vs WWE/TNA/MLW and quasi-territories. The style for decades has always been promos, beat-downs, blood feuds, stealing girlfriends, 5 minutes in the ring with the heel manager....WWE didn't invent all that stuff. The Pro-AEW crowd treats EVERYTHING non-ring as if WWE is the only one to ever do it, and the only company keeping it all alive, and if AEW stoops to that level, they may as well be WWE - and they don't care how many tens of millions Tony has to burn through, or has already burned through, if they start doing "WWE things" then they're gone. It's legitimately mentally ill behavior.
Running a super-indy didn't work. Signing ex-WWE talent didn't work.
Getting a 2nd and 3rd TV show isn't working. Signing ex-NJPW/TNA talent isn't working.
So what's next? Celebrities? Tony buys Tubi from Fox and puts AEW on there? What's the plan?
>>13706164Perception is reality. If you booked a 300-seat dining hall for your birthday party and 50 people showed up, it would feel empty. If you booked a 60-seat room, it would feel incredibly lively. You know all this though which is why you're being a fucking retard instead of even attempting to put some effort in.
