>>13713322Not American but Rey and Eddie always had superior match psychology that's grounded in that it's a "real fight", where size, speed and impact matters. Rey was like the ultimate undersized underdog - very close Chris Benoit in that sense that while Benoit would look like a midget face to face with lot of big wrestlers there was believable that if he'd get that cross face on you it would end the match. It's intensity and working advantages and disadvantages into the match.
Like imagine someone pitching vidrel to Rey, he'd call you an idiot. There is no rhyme or reason to do this sequence other than the vague idea that it "looks cool" somehow in their heads. This is the fundamental flippy shitter problem that they plan these spots around the idea that its different and something they can do and not around the idea of something someone would do.
"I can walk the ring rope and do 920 from the top on my opponent laying on the table" Why? Why would anyone having a "real fight" do that? It's always this roundabout way where they end up trying more than once because they slipped or take extra while finding their balance that sucks the life and spontaneity out of what they are trying to do.
