I’m gonna keep this answer shorter than I’d like but as a fan of both companies but also a frustrated fan of both at times. For me AEW’s booking and storylines don’t make sense a lot of the time and even when they do almost all of their stories with the exception of a few they’ve let slip already have felt so unimaginative and fucking small for lack of a better term. They have all this talent but AEW has a real knack for making their “stars” feel “small”. Straight forward, predictable all the time, not a lot of reason to watch outside of match quality. If you’re a story guy and not amused by the most simpleton of things you’re out of luck. WWE also is nonsensical at times but lately has had some real good stuff and historically (I mean across the entire company history) knows how to make their superstars feel like larger than life stars.
