They're still depressed, people still don't like them, they still don't have any skills or interesting hobbies, their life is still circling the toilet because they have no motivations or goals other than some esoteric abstraction of "success" - so they lash out and attack people
Autists just want everyone to leave them alone so they can focus on stuff they're interested in (and possibly/probably quite good at). School shooters are failed extroverts who are mad at the world for not accepting their brilliance.
