They won a lot of WWE fans by signing and pushing ex-WWE talent
Now many of those have been de-pushed (Miro, Danielson, etc)
NJPW literal whos are getting the TV time and main events, driving away casuals and WWE Primaries

"Remember X? Well, (s)he is in AEW now!" can only sustain ratings for so long. You need organic stars with no WWE stank on them
Don't sign talents known for promos/shenanigans and put them in 20+ minute matches with minimal mic time
AEW should be releasing/non-renewing all the ex-WWE guys and going all in on their current format

Dave also leaves out the part where people watching after 3am (so, the next day) don't count towards those next-day ratings. Millions of uncounted wrestling fans are watching the shows 2-3 days later, especially for the 3-hour Raw and the Friday/Saturday shows. Dynamite/NXT are only 2 hours, not on that late at night on a weeknight, so both have the smallest Live+3/7day growth

This explains why Swineamite, Hampage and Collisoink got cancelled, while Smackdown, Raw and NXT all got record deals.
