Unironically a better event that any Mania from at least the past 10 years. But yes, the main event sucked for a lot of reasons, including the horrendously botched finish. Savage/Flair should have been the main event. And Bret/Piper was another iconic match. At least Hogan/Sid had genuine star power. And no womemes slop cluttering up half the show.

This was the first Mania I ever watched and so I will always think of it positively, I was blown away by the spectacle of it and had seen nothing like it ever in my life. Bros I even enjoyed Nia Snax vs Alexa Bliss that's how enraptured I was by this Showcase of the Immortals. And it was my first Roman/Brock match so I enjoyed it even though I kinda got the sense that most people weren't really behind Roman and didn't care for him.

a lot of the crowd reaction was because the show was too fucking long. they had two battle royals on the preshow. i bought a nosebleed ticket the day of and a bunch of kids started having tantrums at the same time. some adults too. in a vacuum roman taker was worse.

I'm core millennial who saw one ppv as a kid and then never thought about wrestling again until 20 years later when I realized /asp/ existed and started lurking there to learn how to become a wrestling fan. My favorite match ever is Kenny vs Okada at Dominion which was the next wrestling show I watched after WM34 and I thought was epic and I've never really seen anything as hype as that ever since.
