They have had several matches better since then.
That said, I’m glad they were able to have the match they would never get in WWE. Even if all the stars in the universe aligned and they both got the mania match they wanted, there was no way it would be anywhere near as good as this was.

One of the few aew matches I watched. It was weird. I remember Cody played the heel the whole time and cheated to win. Then while he was walking up the ramp and Goldust was crying in the ring he turns back and says he actually needs him to be his tag partner and they instantly make up. It was a discombobulated piece of entertainment.

Stories have a structure. No matter how many times that you hear Dave Meltzer and Tony Khan claim that aew has too many stories, it doesn't change the fact that they don't have any.
Name one.
They have random friendships that we've never seen, random factions based around literally nothing. We get people hating each other for no reason and feuding without explanation and no pay off. The middle act of a story with no beginning or end. Lots of that. There's never a.logical start or end point. There's just random people hating each other on and off incoherently. Not stories.
