>>13755725It's like Ben Askren, imo. 18-0, everyone UFC hater (Affliction/Bellator crowd) insisting he's the best on the planet and everyone in UFC is afraid of him.....finally agrees to take a pay cut to sign with UFC, beats a 12-loss Lawyer in his first match, then loses 2 straight.....retires in his mid-30s with his tail tucked between his legs
For so long as Tony refuses to book AEW competently, as a company at least attempting to make money, then he can always convince himself he's ONLY losing money because he refuses to "copy" WWE; he can continue to style himself as a Wrestling Philanthropist who cares about people over profits. But he betrays himself every time he opens his mouth about PPV sales, live gates, ratings, all of it. We know deep down he cares about all of that stuff, but he's pot-committed at this point to being the WWE Alternative, not the WWE Serious Competitor.
