if they did an actual build and advertised it like the arthur ashe kenny danielson match then yeah sure. if they just threw it on dynamite with no build like they always do then no it probably caps out at 850-900k

Why the fuck would it? Who is a potential Dynamite viewer who is a fan of Okada who isn't already watching AEW? Danielson had the WWE viewers tuning in out of curiosity. Okada has nothing like that. There are no secret Okada viewers who don't watch that can be tapped into.

Only if you did it last minute, with no build up, and no subsequent follow up, and no logical connection to existing story lines, and only announced it on social media 5 minutes before the show goes on the air

No commercials.
Takes up at least 2 quarter hours, but preferably 4.

Then yes, I think the quarter hours with Okada vs. Omega would draw over one million viewers on average. The rest of the show would fall off a fucking cliff, because you'd be shoving like six ad breaks into four quarter hours.

Why? Who is a fan of Okada or Omega who isn't already watching Dynamite week to week? They don't exist.

He's a promoter, man. He's doing spin. He's trying to big up his own show and he knows one million viewers is a nice round number that people talk about a lot. It doesn't actually mean that much at the end of the day.

Because all of that stuff I said increases viewers. It's not about who is or isn't a fan of Okada or Omega already, it's about making something people feel like they gotta see by promoting the hell out of it, then mitigating the factors that lead to people flipping channels as much as possible.

Yes, that's why I said "promote the hell out of it". You run commercials, you post stuff on the internet. You promote the wrestling match for your wrestling promotion. If you spend enough energy saying "THIS IS A BIG DEAL, YOU HAVE TO SEE IT", people will believe it.
