The difference is in AEW, people only get bullet points and otherwise write their own promos, so you can take it for granted that if Christian brings up somebody's dead father, he cleared it with them first, whereas in WWE there's a documented history of people using serious real life events like death and cancer for heat in scripted promos purely at the behest of the office without wanting to do so themselves.
But more to the point, in AEW, Christian does it in promos. In WWE, they'll just stop the match in the middle so people can yell at each other, which is fucking stupid.
