He didn’t have a great relationship with Dusty like Cody did. Definitely talked about Dusty a few times on Raw. He actually did a teary promo like Cody, but he talked about how he wanted to be different from Dusty.

Because nobody cared about Dusty Rhodes in the late 90s. Most of the audience didn't even know or remember who the fuck he was. Probably because he was more well known than his dad ever was. More people saw him do crazy shit in the AE than anything Dusty ever did in the 70s and 80s.

It’s a classic. Stern brought it up years later talking about how funny it was and how Goldust was his favorite wrestling guest. They looked him up and found out he was working for AEW and Stern and Robin both felt really bad for him. They didn’t know what AEW was and thought it meant Dustin was wrestling in peoples backyards for hotdogs.
