People are saying Adam Cole which I understand because everyone stopped watching NXT during this time, but by himself he's not a problem. For me this started when they got these strings of free agents:
>Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reily (both gone or injured in under a year)>Lio Rush (who didn't last a month)>Jake Atlas (injured first match, fired for gay domestic abuse while on shelf)>Keith Lee (history of being difficult with creative and completely washed and injury prone after COVID)>ROH Purchase>PVZ (still on the roster for some reason)>Jeff Hardy (fucked up like he always does)>Parker Boudreaux and those other washouts that came with him>Madison Rayne>Saraya>Jeff Jarrett (he's based, but he always find a way to burn you financially)Then in 2022 when we started hearing about HHH trying to get his guys back, ultimately culminating with Regal leaving (with a year long TV appearance freeze) but keeping all the others that wanted out to force them to honor their contracts instead of giving them the same shit. Now there's resentment and no incentive to play along. This built up over a year and finally imploded in 2023 with Punk (who was worth signing) going postal.
They've still got these problems, the only difference is they've gone back to being selective about who's actually worth bringing while gradually letting everyone else tick away.
