Why would Fox bid higher when they were already losing money? They wanted less money to renew then they were already paying.
Basically it got cancelled and USA renewed Raw and renamed it.

He's kind of right tho. Nielsen ratings are insanely outdated metric. Every TV rating is estimated figures extrapolated from a small number of boxes in random people's houses? It's literally retarded. Like when you get "poll numbers" during an election season. Completely made up bullshit from tiny sample sizes.

Wrestling gets 1/2 million viewers for WWE and 800k (lol) for AEW but the real number is in the millions. And even more online.

I've exclusively watched wrestling via illegal streaming sites for literally the past 20 years.
