>>13829578they both get mischaracterized as being obsessed with putting up 30+ minute epics where both wrestlers do every single move they know, survive 20 finishers barely selling anything and end the match with a shitty fake looking elbow or knee
omega in his prime was much better at putting together a match than some of the revisionists give him credit for. for the occasional goofiness and theatricality of his gimmick he was great at pacing the matches, giving weight and importance to the big moves and while sometimes the finish did feel flat and justifying it as "they were too exhausted by that point" doesn't really justify it, most times they were the right conclusion to the match
on the other hand, i'm kind of tired of ospreay by this point. his maximalist approach is somehow starting to feel repetitive, nothing feels like it matters and it just feels like you go from a string of moves to a short pause to another string of moves. i watch the latest oku match and he was doing some tom and jerry ass selling of his knee right before doing 3 flips and going into a sloppy spot to go into a big move that neither of them sold. it's too much and and the same time it's nothing.
