If it couldn’t be any clearer that he’s come to realize he fucked up by choosing to sign with AEW when the WWE was habitually thirsting for him when he was white hot in NJPW. That he took a risk trying to change the wrestling world with the Old Bucks, Cody and Tony and it just hasn’t panned out how he envisioned when he signed.

I bet you anything if the WWE offered him another contract he would take it and do his last run or two or whatever he’s got left over there.

Shawn's NXT is the kinda thing that takes a certain sense of humor to appreciate. If you "get it," it is really really funny; if you don't then you don't. He also does that thing Russo used to do where everyone, even the jobbiest of jabronis, gets something to do each week so they never really fade from the audience's mind.

Also Ilja is very based. His in ring work, ability to tell a story, and characterization are all top notch. Sadly he is limited in the WWE by his size. He is unironically a guy that would do better in AEW where he wouldn't have to deal with the audiences preconceptions.

Bucks spent years riding Omega’s coattails and they know they couldn’t just let him go to greener pastures because the world sees even more clearly that they are ass without leeching off him. Kenny is the one people care about. People have only ever given as much of a shit about the Bucks as they do about the singles star they’re henchman for. Imagine the Bucks really talked Kenny into not signing with the WWE because it would be “unfair” to their group if he made the move on his own and they’d feel “betrayed”. God the Bucks are something else.

Bucks always wanted to try their hands in WWE. The story was that Page didn't want to go and they decided to stick together, plus Tony upped their pay big time and decreased their schedules. Back in the day HBK told Johnny Ace to hire them and Ace fucked them. Hogan also liked the Bucks and Omega, and later on put them over verbally. Cena heard the buzz around Omega and wanted a match with him. Cody was said to talk with them around their contract renewal. Funny how things turned out.

Kenny, Honseman and MJF are gone from AEW.
They all will have had their debuts in WWE by Survivor Series 2024.
MJF will be the first to debut at Mania in a few weeks, screwing Cody, preventing him from "finishing the story."

Paul definitely wanted him for NXT in 2018. That was actually a big part of why The Elite ended up forming AEW instead, they didn't want Page to have to start at the bottom while the rest of them were on the main roster
