It's true. Funny thing is that Sr. and Barb doted on Jebetty because he was the nerdy brown noser and had been getting involved in Florida politics going back to the 1980s with presidential ambitions. But he lost the feud with Lawton Chiles in 1994 whereas Dubya won the Ann Richards feud and that pretty much changed everything. If Jebetty had gotten elected governor in 1994 it probably would have been him vs. Gore in 2000.

Cheney is on record as saying they didn't do it because they knew that if they toppled Sadaam the whole country and region would descend into chaos. Also Sr. knew foreign policy better than almost any president we've ever had. Dubya was a putz who knew nothing about anything and allowed himself to be influenced by genuinely evil men like Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz who were obsessed with toppling Sadaam going back to the 1980s.
