heres my objective ranking of every aew and wwe announcer with notes (i'm a commentary autist)
S-Tier - These guys improve every show they're on
>Wade Barrett - Dude has chemistry with just about everyone, can both sell a match as a former wrestler and also make ya laugh
>Taz - He's kind of retarded but he knows his stuff and has a distinct style that adds to the overall presentation of any match he's calling
>Vic Joseph - Best play by play guy in wrestling right now, knows all the moves but not in a smug or overbearing way. Has great chemistry with anyone he's paired with as well and actually has good banter for a pbp
A-Tier: these guys enhance the show but don't carry it
>Corey Graves (forma de PBP) - surprisingly good at play by play, he has good chemistry with wade and can sell a match really well. very knowledgable about the industry as well. tends to fall back into heel schtick from time to time though which can detract from certain matches
>Michael Cole - he's mostly really great lately but he has been having memory issues lately and it also seems like he's desperate to please Pat at all times which can be a little cringe
The Rest: everyone else falls under here
>Nigel McGuinness - extremely knowledgable about wrestling but relies far too much on schtick
>Booker T - incoherent the majority of the time but has good banter and can enhance the presentation of wrestlers that he likes
>Corey Graves (forma de color commentary) - relies far too much on schtick and it becomes overbearing and obnoxious
>Excalibur - almost too knowledgable that it detracts from his commentary because he's too busy bringing up random shit
>Pat McAfee - obnoxious most of the time. gets to be off the leash far more than others which leads to both higher highs and lower lows. he's improving every week as he actually learns the talent.
