basically but all politics. Dwayne wanted the WM main event despite not working Rumble. Cody was being encouraged to wrestle Seth with Punk hurt as an alternative but rejected the idea, then Drews contract was coming up so they pivoted to him. Cody got back in the conversation as people rejected the idea of Rock taking Cody's spot by force along with his original plans getting shot down.

I don't see this at all. He's doing the best work out of anyone involved so far. He's no stranger to working as a heel. Some of the best work of his career was as Corporate Champion and Hollywood Rock.

When he went to Memphis, the crowd was rooting for him to beat up Cody even when his promo got evil and creepy about delivering a belt covered in Cody's blood to his mother.
