How come japan split into a million indies while vince was able to put every other promotion out of business? It's also ironic that it is japan which had mass walkouts of talent who started their own promotions considering japanese are all about loyalty and tradition. Are American wrestlers just that spineless?

WWF was a TV business.
Japan was a live sports business.
They are not the same.

US used to have live sports wrestling it was called the territories and Vince killed it in order to acquire the resources to create his TV slop carnival that still haunts America to this day

It is a live business though. Weekly shows are clipped matches and post fight comments. Indies get one big show a month one if the handful of satellite channels because the culture has more interest in combat sports/martial arts as a pasttime.
None of the Japanese companies have tape libraries like WWE

NewJapanWorld is co owned by their TV station
DDT/TJPW/NOAH are now owned by their streamer
AJPW's footage is owned by their TV stations. GaoraTV owns their streaming service.

NJPW and Stardom are owned by a game company and have been used to shill cards and DLC
Is AJPW still owned by that IT company?

All the indies rely on Gaora or SamuraiTV for broadcast or else they settle for niconico ippv.

Lot of the biggest places like BJW, Michi Pro, K-dojo run training schools as a way to bring in more money. Students work for cheap/run and street team the shows/bump on the undercard.

Indie mainstays have side jobs. Being bartenders or gym trainers.

Indies make big deals out of the business sponsors they get. Gimmick matches and belts.

That's not entirely true. Japanese companies made big money with TV deals, especially in the 80's. It's just that those deals became worse and worse as the 90's went on, from which point live gates became the main source of income.

I think one of the reasons that splits happen is wrestlers historically having more influence in the companies, especially compared to the situation in the WWE. Once you've reached a certain spot on the card or had enough seniority, your word did count something. Inoki and Baba were first among equals (those equals being the top guys and most senior guys in the company) and that's how they did run those companies, not undisputed dictators. The flipside of that was of course, that when there were big conflicts of interest within the company, guys weren't just taking shit and would leave, if they saw no other option.

Meanwhile, the WWE under Vince has always been his personal kingdom, with a culture of "do as the king says". So if you work for him, you're no more than an employee and you gotta eat the shit he serves you and that's that. Add to that that WWE was the only big game in town for the longest time and you got a good, subservient roster, where even the ones that get fired won't talk shit, in hope to get re-hired some day.
