AEW, in the beginning, was intended to be the alternative to WWE. Cody and Brandi represented the stale WWE style that AEW's core fanbase wanted to get away from, so they were booed out of the company.

Tony has turned it into WWE Lite now, he'd fit right in if he went back.

Not sure what you're talking about. Cody was booked as a main eventer in AEW as far as repeatedly having the TV main event slot, being a featured top guy with programs revolving around him, etc. He got over from his wrestlemania (re)debut in WWE, primarily because he was the AEW main eventer that WWE poached.

No, Cody left. Tony already said he offered him a new contract but he chose wwe instead. I know it hurts, especially since he single handedly took wwe to its most financially successful period ever, but you need to move on. It’s been 2 years, and he’s not going back.
