When a promotion blows their load on free TV, it lessens interest in the PPVs/special events/house shows, since you can watch for free without buying a ticket or paying for the PPV (or now, paying for the streaming service for live PLE).
Wrestling fans have forgotten this simple, eternal rule of wrestling booking because the Monday Night Wars led to an arms race of increasingly big angles, matches, and spots, on weekly TV, which led to overexposure of high spots, great matches, and big stars.
Professional wrestling is better when the audience isn't burnt out every week. Leave the fans wanting MORE, then give it to them (but they must PAY for it). That's booking 101.
