For what we've been told by "experts" like Meltzer, Tony Khan has shown far too much unreciprocated loyalty to WBD. Either Meltzer is a complete and total fucking liar who has covered up for WBD ratings being an unmitigated disaster and massive disappointment.......OR, Tony Khan should tell WBD to eat shit if they're going to keep dicking him around, and he should take AEW elsewhere for the massive raise they are due
AEW has only been a failure in terms of trying to present themselves as being an equivalent product to WWE. By most standards, they're the 2nd best wrestling organization many of us will experience in our lifetimes. Their biggest issues are scaling issues, too many employees sitting at home, and access. Putting PPVs on YouTube absolutely solves the access problem; next Tony needs to rip off the band-aid and let a few dozen people walk, along with renting smaller venues despite the protestations of his high-priced veterans.
AEW is a show that belongs in jam-packed 5-8k arenas with a grittier presentation and a raucous crowd, streaming around the world for everyone who is sick of WWE's glitz and glam bullshit - this commenter included. The current AEW being half philanthropy half capitalism isn't working. Shifting more of the product to YouTube and away from failing WBD is a step in the right direction.
TLDR: idk WBD can eat shit tho
