1. Punk has gotten worse with age, not better. If he was a mild shizo back in 2014, now he's a full on shizo.
2. Back when Punk left WWE that was the only game in town, so you'd be a lot more careful on stepping on people's toes since you'd be sent back working the indies for a hotdog and a handshake. Now Punk has options (well, at least had)
3. Punk expected to be treated like royalty in AEW because he was the first 'fed bad' guy. He thought himself as a leader of le resistance. When Tony didn't catter enough to his needs and clearly preferred the Elite over him, that made him snap even more.
