I was watching one of the AJPW Summer Action Series 2 1997 shows last night after NXT. The Hayabusa, Shinzaki vs Kobashi, Kentaro Shiga match was fire. Liked it way more than the Misawa vs Akiyama main event from that show.

Probably going to watch some more AJPW tonight. There is a Champion Carnival show from 1992 that has Hansen vs Kawada for the main event that I have been wanting to watch.

And yes 'd 'o. Toshiaki Kwaba was LARIATO'd in the balmy spring of '92.

Technically not a PPV. Some great matches in front of a red hot crowd that hold up incredibly well, not much new to be said. Considering the sheer amount of all time greats on the card it's really funny to see who they were pushing as heavyweight champ at the time. Rikio stuck in the midcard with the top belt while a still green Tanahashi sold his ass off trying to get the poor fucker over
