Smackdown for PS1 actually got me into wrestling. It was a cheap bargain bin game at Walmart and I begged my mom to buy it for me because it was cheap and looked cool. I also recognized Mankind from renting WWF Warzone after seeing some video game magazine coverage that made Taker, Kane, Mankind, and Goldust seem cool as shit. Once I had Smackdown, I actually started watching Smackdown.

played the shit out of wm2000, heard rumors of a new game called no mercy coming out, but by the time no mercy came out i was already obsessed with smackdown (which at the time was very new and exciting. It had great graphics and backstage fighting). I never even played no mercy and didn't even know or care if it ever came out

I still play smackdown 1 & 2 thru emulation. Been playing as paul bearer and once I got him the belt and held it for awhile I switched to a different wrestler (the kat). so once I get the females belt i'll get the hardcore and so on til i've got them all including the tag belts.

with emulators the game runs alot quicker loading stuff so it really isnt that big a deal with load times. the simulated matches are still lame but im not brain fried and can sit thru them til my match. the season mode is fun and alot of stuff goes on especially in the first 2 seasons with the story mode it has built in. sorry if you cant enjoy it Im coming up on year 4 in my game now. still enjoying my rag tag season mode
