Right in, I have this first impression of a lot of guys I didn't see till 96 cruiserweight WCW. To this day even Jericho is in my head as a cruiserweight, Eddie and Benoit were dimeless, but I could see Rey appealing to 10.year olds even in that dimeless division because for the time his shit was new and almost superhuman.

Pretty much. He had a cool look too and was very fun to play as in the video games. Which is probably why WWE tries to push smaller guys as "real life video game characters" all the time on commentary, but it's not going to work for fags like Ricochet, maybe Dragon Lee if WWE makes better games.

I always thought of him as "ruthlessly technical". It was around the time he was floating around the midcard post WM20 and thought his matches were better than most main events.
